Award-Winning Driver: Flying J Road Warrior

Congratulations to Dave R. for winning 3rd place in the Flying J Road Warrior Contest! We are incredibly proud of the work you do and your dedication to the industry as a whole.

Dave has been driving with Venture for the past 19 years. He has created many friendships with the team here in Indianapolis over the years. Dave is a fantastic driver with a passion for truck driving. He certainly deserves this recognition as an award-winning truck driver. Congrats again Dave, your Road Warrior award is very well deserved!

Flying J Road Warrior Contest

Hosted by Pilot Flying J, the 2021 Road Warrior contest accepted nominations throughout the month of September. Professional Drivers could be nominated on the company website or with a Facebook comment. Anyone nominating a driver had to describe why they considered that driver a “road warrior.” The nominations were judged on three criteria:

  • 50% – Impact of Nominee with Respect to the Theme of the Contest (“road warrior”)
  • 25% – Quality of Submission
  • 25% – Ability to emotionally move the Judges

Road Warrior Winners in 2021

The Grand Prize winner in 2021 was Eric Curlett, a 20-year Marine Corps veteran. Founder of Pilot Flying J, Jim Haslam said to Curlett in the award video, “You’re a great driver. You go above and beyond, and you represent everything that is good about the truck drivers of this great country.” Eduardo Andrade and Dave Rosenquist won second and third place, respectively. The team at Venture is proud of our award winning truck driver Dave and his great attitude.
